Description
Four Leaf Clover and Seven Ladybugs by Barbara Griffin. According to folklore, finding a four leaf clover or shamrock is good luck. The odds of finding one among three leaf clovers is about 10,000 to one, so if you find one you are lucky. Some say the leaves represent faith, hope, love and luck, while others say the fourth leaf represents the Grace of God.
Ladybugs are also a symbol of good luck according to superstition. To have a ladybug land on you is good luck and supposedly whatever the ladybug lands on will be replaced with a new and better version. Ladybugs are a beneficial insect to farmers because they each eat about 5,000 aphids in their lifetime. Farmers prayed to Our Lady for protection of their crops. Soon ladybugs came and ate pests. The farmers are said to have named them Beetles of our Lady which evolved into Ladybugs.
The number 7 is considered a lucky, protective and positive symbol for many generations of people. It is a universal number that has been used in numerous ways. Some examples of its universality are that there are seven wonders of the world, seven seas, seven continents, seven days of the week, seven colors in a rainbow, seven spots on a ladybug, seven gifts of the Holy Ghost, seven years itch, seven dwarfs, seven hills of Rome, seven musical notes, seven innings in baseball...and the list goes on and on.
So if you display a four leaf clover with seven ladybugs in your home or office, you will surely have good luck. Believe it and you will see it.
