Description
Sunshine on the Red Shamrock is a photograph by Barbara Griffin. Beautiful reddish shamrocks are blooming in a sunny window. The oxalis is a flowering plant in the woodsorrel family. It resembles a shamrock with it's three heart-shaped leaves. It is considered an appropriate flower for St. Patrick's Day, March 17, since it looks like a shamrock and the shamrock is the flower of Ireland where St. Paddy lived after being taken there as a slave from England. He is considered to have brought Christianity to Ireland.
