Description
When I Think of Home Painterly Sky by Barbara Griffin. Most Newfoundlanders who are away from home feel much the same way about their home. Newfoundland will always be home to them no matter where they live. To clarify a few lines in the poem especially the one about the trout I thought I caught... without me knowing it, the trout was attached when I needed a new worm, but I didn't see it and thought I had caught my first trout. I was about eight years old. The 'lop in the cove' for anyone who doesn't know just means it was windy on the water. The background has painterly brushstrokes and a textured effect added and a painted sky. The community is Fox Harbour, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, my grandmothers home town.
